East Midlands Monochrome Group

I have been taking, and processing, monochrome images for about sixty years starting with simple contact prints and currently wet darkroom images for Club and exhibition purposes. During teenage years these recorded other interests but the expertise came in useful during National Service when I was employed as an aerial cartographer processing images from which we produced maps.

Following National Service I switched to colour using photographs to
record family occasions and as a teaching aid.

I joined Club life in 1972 and monochrome imaging gradually took precedence.I served with the MCPF Council for five years and judged regularly in inter Club battles. 1999 saw the founding of EMMG and monochrome returned as my first love in photography.Now I value my photography because it allows me the enjoyment of the companionship afforded by membership of EMMG.
