Thirty buildings of interest in the centre of the village of Brixworth are now adorned with blue plaques and form the Brixworth Heritage Trail, and walking along this trail formed the basis of our day out in May.

The walk started from The Pound which is opposite the Coach and Horses on Harborough Road. The village is chiefly known for its church which is of Anglo-Saxon origin and, indeed, we spent much of our time in its surrounds on a beautifully warm and sunny day. One of the church wardens helped us with some of the local history and the vestry was unlocked to allow us to take photographs inside.

If anyone is interested in following the Heritage Trail in their own time, I can recommend the food in the Coach and Horses.
