Fotheringhay and Elton Hall

Things are looking up. The weather was kinder to us, just light cloud and no rain. There were 7 of us altogether. Some of us met up at the Coffee Lounge in Wansford and then proceeded to Fotheringhay Church, where we met up with the rest of the party. As it was a little windy, we took photos on the inside of the church first and then scouted out the best view points of the outside.

We had lunch at The Falcon Inn and 6 of us decided to carry on to Elton Hall Gardens in the afternoon. Carol decided to have a tour of the house. As it’s a private residence, photography wasn’t allowed indoors. We spent some time photographing the various curiosities in the gardens and the outside of the Hall. Luckily the scaffolding had largely been removed from the square tower, so we could photograph the whole building.

We finished with tea and cake at the café. All in all a lovely sociable outing.
